Wicked sisters
Meet Miss Demeanor and her wicked sister Darla. They are part of a new collection of art dolls that I'm working on. They will have much more detail than my past dollz. These dollz will be more for the adult art appreciator. Some may be scarrier than others, bloody, and creepy!
odd sock ratty ....
i created this little character in my hands, with no pattern ... i love to work like that sometimes ...
A Mouth with a Mind of Its Own!
He's a handy mouth to have around! (And he gives the phrase "talk to the hand" new meaning!) Check him out at Knitty!

Daisy
Hi, I'm Rick. For the last couple of months I've been making plush zombies that I call ZOMs. My goal is to take all the zombie themes: blood, brains, guts, bits falling off, and make them cute and cuddly.
This December I'm going to be part of the Stuff This! art show at the Rivet Gallery in Ohio. This will be my first art show. I'm pretty excited about it, and I'd like to do more of them. If any of you know about any art or craft shows out there could you leave a comment about them. I'd like to get into more of them next year!
This is Daisy, I finished her just yesterday.
If you'd like to see more of my ZOMs you can find them here: http://bit.ly/FbZOMs
Miss Demeanor
This is a custom doll I made for a girl who gave me 5 garbage bags full of awesome fabric. I hope she likes her.

My latest project - Mystic Forest Dwellers
This year has definitely been The Year of the Plush for me. I'm participating in three major plush shows, I taught a class about making plush, and have been working on one major secret plush project that is finally ready to be revealed. It had its ups and downs, debates, setbacks, collaborations and contemplations - until it took its final form and shape. I am so very excited to introduce to you my new project - Mystic Forest Dwellers.
Mystic Forest Dwellers is a line of plush, handmade in small batches, of a unique set of characters designed by me. They are are a bit animal, a bit magical and always full of personality. The line is made of five regular forest habitants and future limited edition friends that will come for short time visit. There are additional products planned for this line, so stay tuned.
You can follow the adventure of the dwellers on their blog, facebook page or twitter (yes, they have internet access and they are not afraid to use it). And most importantly...
Mystic Forest Dwellers will officially begin selling plush goodness on Thursday October 14th. This week, we will reveal a new design every day up to the beginning of the pre-sale, which will be Thursday September 30th. Crack your piggy banks and make room on your shelves kiddos because we are in business!
The dwellers and I are so excited, we can't wait to meet you!

Big Red Lorry
Decided to make a bigish red lorry (19x13x16 cm). Its mostly felt with some nice traffic patterned material on the side and red gingham on the bottom. I used some clear PVC for the window so its sort of looks like glass.
Happy Plush Plush!

Owl Doll. Owl Details.
I realized it's been a while since I've shared any new dolls. So, this here is my latest custom order request to come through my shop. Created to be a special doll for a babe on the way with a nursery waiting for him/her decked out with this Alexander Henry -- "It's a Hoot" fabric.
I wanted to make a similar doll to the last one I blogged about --- with that sweet, bright eyed, baby owl face.
With lots of "It's a hoot" fabric details.
Under the wings.
And, on the feet.
Oh yes, I love this fabric! I still have an owl embroidered pillow, with this wonderful fabric, still available. And, a few more new dolls that I am almost ready to share.

Purple Scottie Sock Dog
Here is a sock dog I made from modifying a pattern I found in Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts.
This purple dog's square face makes it look a bit like a Scottie dog. (I'll have to make one like this from a black sock sometime)
