Cabin Fever

Above is the Golem of Prague. Below is a wild pig. I grew up hearing stories of my grandfather's battles with his piggies on their farm in Black River Falls, WI. He was convinced the pigs were out to get him. And that they were smarter than the other animals. And that they worked together.

Hello from Milwaukee. We are hunkering down for a predicted 18 to 20 inches of snow in the next 24 hours. One of my personal challenges is picture taking. I'm a lousy photographer. In spring/summer/fall I cheat by utilizing sunlight for taking pix. But kee-rist; winter. No light. Short days. The dogs smell terrible. We're all a bit touched right now...short fused and ready to snap. And can't take even the lousiest of pictures.

I've been proto-typing and refining ideas since the new year. Creatures are stacking up. My friend, who is a real photographer, snapped these photos of what some recent creations.

That pig is too cute to be wild! My dad has similar childhood stories about evil farmyard pigs, and one in particular that ran off with his favorite teddy bear. Maybe if the piggy was eating a teddy bear, it would look a little more evil?

And I love the Golem of Prague!
