overcoming fabric intimidation

about a year ago i bought 5 or 6 pieces of really nice amy butler fabric at a local quilting shop. for a guy that normally uses remnants, discounts, and recycled, these were more than i normally like to spend on fabric. but her fabric is so beautiful, i would've kicked myself for not buying them.

then came the problem - i couldn't bring myself to use them. what if i made something and screwed them up? i think they would hear the swearing for miles.

finally this weekend i took the plunge and cut up one of them to make some new cozies. it didn't hurt as much as i thought it would.

I totally know how you feel. Felt, fleece and fur are so much safer to use. I get really freaked thinking about using other fabrics. :) But these turned out so nice. i love them!

Looks great! And I know what you mean--I have a growing stash of quarter flats I just can't seem cut. :)
