But making a plush version of Sigmund was a ton of fun. I basically adapted my monster pattern, making the body a bit wider and longer. Then, I added eight tentacles and a smattering of wool felt leaves tacked together one by one.

Sigmund the Sea Monster
I have been a bad blogger lately. I've participated in a few craft shows, but mainly I've been buried under custom orders, like this one:
Some of you may remember this guy from the 70s cartoon Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. The show was on-air a few years before I was born, so I never watched the show myself. And, after having watched a few clips on YouTube, I can't say I feel I missed anything. :)
But making a plush version of Sigmund was a ton of fun. I basically adapted my monster pattern, making the body a bit wider and longer. Then, I added eight tentacles and a smattering of wool felt leaves tacked together one by one.
I'm very proud of Sigmund, and even though he's probably the most time-consuming plushie I've made to date, I can't wait to adapt the pattern for various other sea creatures.

Great job Jessica! He turned out really nice. Love the netting and shells for the photos. :)
He's great! And yes, the netting and photo are the perfect touch. I especially like the little suckers on all his tentacles. I can see how he would have taken forever to make.
