Hey Everyone!
This is a piece I created for the "Totoro Forest Project" fundraiser. The project was created to raise money to save the forest outside Tokyo, Japan, that inspired the animated film "My Neighbor Totoro." There are 200 amazing artists contributing works in all mediums from all over the globe. The theme of the show is "what is your Totoro?". I wanted to create a guardian of the woods who nurtured and protected all the life in the forest, whether plant, animal or insect. It was an honor to contribute to this worthy cause! I'll post more details on the show as they become available on my blog: www.leeannasthread.blogspot.com

What a great cause. I love your guardian of the woods theme - beautiful colors, and I'm happy to see he's smiling!
Thanks! It was great fun making him, and I'll be a little sorry to see him go, but all for a good cause!
Fun! He has such great detail.
It took me about 2 weeks total to get him finished, I didn't quite realize how much time it would take to sew all the vines and leaves on... :) He's pretty big, measuring 20" wide with his leaves spread out around him and 22" tall.
