doudoupop biodou dress

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like ......

My latest needlework is a set of Scandanavian Christmas Ornaments. With a little embroidery and all purpose muslin they work up fast just in time for that last minute gift giving. With things tight with the economy what better than a handmade gift from the heart. Pattern will be available by Wednesday in my Etsy Shop.

An opportunity for all you green plushiers out there...

From the Martha Stewart website:
"Do you have a clever idea for reusing housewares, clothing, accessories, or paper? We want to feature your ideas for repurposed crafts with Martha and our audience! The possibilities are endless and all ideas are welcome! Please email (recycledcraft@marthastewart.com) us with a photo of your craft along with a detailed description (and be sure to include your name and contact telephone number)."
I can think of plenty of you who make the most wonderful things out of recycled fabrics and other goodies. Let's show Martha what we're made of! (and if you can work in a reference to The Needle.org, so much the better!)
Hi!
Well it's been awhile since I've posted anything, so I thought that I'd share this robin that I made as part of a swap with you. It is made out of felt and is completely hand-sewn. It is approx. 10.5 inches tall. I think it turned out so cute that I'm tempted to make several more birds to post in my shop. I'm just trying to brainstorm different kinds =).

My coloring book is in!

It's here! I'm really excited about it! So are Mugsy and Dan (pictured below).

Some plushed family members

'Tis the season for Christmas gifts, and these are plush versions of my husband and our 5 and a half year old niece. I'll be adding a plush version of myself to the group as well. It's our niece's gift this year, and since we don't get to see her that often I thought it would be fun for her to have plush versions of ourselves that she could play with when we're not around. I'm sure her "uncle Ben" plush will get most of the wear. Or love, I should say. They are mentally both the same age... :D

Ringo & Kat the Rocker Mushrooms

Yeah! Rock on :) The red one is a custom order that I made for a Xmas present. I was pleased with the result that I had to make another one and put it in my etsy shop. Looks like I'll have to make one more for my little sister, she said it's the best one to date, even better than the little devil one. Personally, I love their little mowhawks.

Pierre

Our wonderful flatmate Anthony left for the UK a month or more ago and I had intended to make a travel companion for him before he left. Unfortunatly, time management is not always such a skill of mine, but I finished Pierre a few days after Anthony left.

Soon Pierre will be winging his way to his new home in London! I hope Anthony feeds him baguettes and pate. Pierre gets fussy and will moult all over the carpet if he doesn't get treats from time to time.

A few new creatures going to Felt Club

I had to take a few quick shots of my new batch of plushies. They're all going with me to Felt Club this Sunday. If you're in the Los Angeles area, I hope you can make it. It's this Sunday the 16th, and this link tells you all you need to know about how to get there.
I kind of hate the thought of them just going to their new homes and possibly not leaving an internet trace, so here they are!

From left to right: Davis, Marty, Penny. (Penny's my favorite!)

L to R: Peter, Peter, Pumpkin Bringer, Sammykins, Isobel, Mardi Gras.
You can see a few more pictures of the new guys at my Flickr, too.
And if you're in the LA area, please stop by and say hi! I'd love to meet you.

ROBOT PLUSH

It's been a while since I've posted. I got really busy with Halloween craziness. But here are some pics of my robot guys that were in the Plush You show at Double Punch in San Fran. Based on some pics I've seen it doesn't look like they were displayed outside of their boxes which bums me out. I guess my instructions weren't clear enough. Anyway here's what they looked like. Enjoy!Robyn Fabsits

menagerie

After working like crazy for the last few months, my new book of toy knitting patterns is finally done! Making the toys seemed to take a lot more time and effort than coming up with the ideas. I even had a couple patterns that never made it into the book, and I have several ideas that I never got around to working on. I'm really happy with the designs that I put into it, although I feel a little bad for the guys that got left out! All this creating has made quite a menagerie at my house, though. I took a big bag of toys to a knitter's guild meeting last night. My husband thought I had put all the toys into the bag, but it was actually only about 2/3 of them! I miss these little cuties, though. I wonder who took them home from Plush You? Do any of you ever wonder where some of your creations end up?
