Winky the pirate sweater kitty

Hey y'all, Felicia of Fluffy Flowers here. One thing I love about the creatures I make is that many of them are from recycled materials. And lots of them are from previously worn clothes.

Winky the pirate sweater kitty for example is made from a felted wool sweater. I'm constantly on the lookout for truly groovy fabrics at the thrift store. A lot of them are in the form of clothes and are perfect for creature making since usually only small pieces of fabric are needed.

So the next time you're cleaning out your closet and pull out a pile of old or out grown clothes think in terms of creatures. There's probably a way for you to turn your favorite old jeans into an awesome softie.

Reusing fabrics from any source is an awesome idea. And the kitty just makes me smile.
