Le Raclet is an italian based Screen Print studio specialized in Paper and Fabric print. The studio was born in Milan in 2007. It slowly became a meeting point for young and talented artists coming from the illustration, design and street art scene. Over the last years Le Raclet has released a remarkable amount of hand screen printed posters, t-shirts and goodies, which reflect the different faces of the contemporary art scene.

Ninon is an italian full time softie maker based in Berlin. She started making these creatures in 2004, following the need of combining two of her favorite things: sewing and drawing.

T&A Friendly Paints Too

Misfits and Tablecloths: new paintings by Amy Ortiz of T&A Friendly

In the midst of my crazy week, I almost completely forgot that I had not posted any news about the showing of my latest paintings at Flying Pigeon. I'm pretty happy that I was better about setting aside more time for painting this year. In the past, I've let my plush endeavors take up most of my time and energy and I finally said, "No More!" So I hope many of you can find your way to the HIghland Park/L.A. area next Saturday (AUG. 8) for the opening reception of my latest work.

It'll be a great event with many of the neighboring shops showing work from other artists. While, there, you can also checkout the awesome Dutch and Chinese imported bikes that Flying Pigeon has to offer...I really want a Dutch one myself but I'm too short.

Press Release: Anyone in New York with a yen for wild embroidery?

This seemed to me like something some of you might find interesting. Here's the details:
The DIY Salon with the Church of Craft

Thursday, March 6, 2008, 7:00 - 10:00 PM

Join MAD and the Church of Craft for a night of hands-on art-making, music and refreshments in celebration of the Museum's current exhibitions Pricked: Extreme Embroidery and Cheers: A MAD Collection of Goblets. In addition to do-it-yourself workshops, the Salon will include hand-decorated snacks and live DJ. The DIY Salon is a free event, open to the public with all materials provided. Guided tour of Pricked: Extreme Embroidery at 8:00 PM.
The Church of Craft is a non-denominational organization that promotes a connection to humanity, a love of life and proactive spiritual practice through the art of creating.

Participating artists include:
Cal Patch, Alison Shanik, Iviva Olenick, Mary Izet and Callie Janoff, who will each provide instruction for the beginner to the advanced creator. DJ Brett Webb will spin all night and Elaine Cohen will serve up artistic treats.
