Owl Doll. Owl Details.

I realized it's been a while since I've shared any new dolls. So, this here is my latest custom order request to come through my shop. Created to be a special doll for a babe on the way with a nursery waiting for him/her decked out with this Alexander Henry -- "It's a Hoot" fabric.
I wanted to make a similar doll to the last one I blogged about --- with that sweet, bright eyed, baby owl face.
With lots of "It's a hoot" fabric details.
Under the wings.
And, on the feet.
Oh yes, I love this fabric! I still have an owl embroidered pillow, with this wonderful fabric, still available. And, a few more new dolls that I am almost ready to share.

MCH Heart Felt Doll

This is my newest Heart Felt doll. She is my first attempt at adding a knitted two piece outfit on a doll. Over the holiday I made a yellow jacket for one of my dolls for a little girl in my town and was surprised at how quickly and easily it came together for me. She is currently available on my Shop , but might be shipping out to one of the stores that carry my items soon.

MCH Heart Felt Doggie Doll

This is one of several new Heart Felt Doggie Dolls, unfortunately the pictures of the others turned out really dark, but they are all similar in color. I am getting a lot of orders to use both brown/pink combination and bright colors.

Costom Owl Doll

I'm so excited that buyers are really starting to get into their orders. They are choosing colors and requesting items to be personalized. I think by making a your order custom, it makes it much more special and I love doing it. Here's an example of an item I made custom for a little girl.

New Mermaid and Owl Dolls

My new mermaid is a big hit with my own children and I already starting working on several more. She is definitely the largest doll I have made, and is extra soft and hug-gable. The bottom picture shows just how big she is, my daughter in the picture is almost 3. :)

I am really into making owls right now. I tried to use the colors of the season - I love fall!

You can see these new Maureen Cracknell Handmade Heart Felts dolls and more at my shop and my blog.

Maureen Cracknell Handmade Heart Felt Santa Doll
This is my newest little Santa Doll from my new line MCH Holiday. I had so much fun making that super huge one, I had to quickly make another. In the bottom photo he is holding a couple dollhouse ornaments I made from scraps of my handmade felt. You can also see this little guy on my shop and my blog.

Heart Felt Santa Doll

This Santa Doll was made out of the items in the picture above, some Eco-friendly fill, a little bit of wool roving, and lots of love. The customer requested this doll and sent me clothing from when her son was an infant for me to incorporate in the design of the doll in some way. I used the clothing pieces as patches on Santa's suit and think this is such a wonderful way to create a family keepsake and make a handmade doll even more special.

When Music and Plush Collide

Since I began making my dolls and dollhouses I have gotten the chance to create some pretty neat things - from bringing life to an old wool sweater that hadn't been worn in years to turning a child's drawing into something they can hold and cherish. Recently I finished up a toy line for the music duo Renee & Jeremy and I think this unique collaboration is up there with the coolest things I've gotten to make. All the items I created were inspired by the awesome animation for their music video for "It's a big world" and the illustrations on their website, both done by artist Hsinping Pan. Check it out!
