It was tough to work in black! Most of my creatures are super colorful.

White Cat Memorial

My husband recently requested that I make a white cat for his boss & his boss's wife. They are mourning the recent loss of their cat, so he thought a plush version would help cheer them up a little, and would serve as a memorial for their beloved pet as well.

Cheshire Cat Throw Pillow

I made a Cheshire Cat pillow for my niece last year for Christmas. I got a positive response not only from her, but from a lot of people who saw it. So I decided to make more of them this year.

The design is a bit different and more simplified this time around.

Nubbinized Na'vi!

Movies inspire me. After seeing the movie "Avatar", I got inspired to make a "Nubbin-ized" Na'vi (the tribal, blue, "cat-people" aliens in the film).

Fun with Paisley

Thanks to a thrift store maven and fellow plush artist, Christiana Ward, I got this wild tutti frutti paisley cashmere sweater. It just begged to be made into a calico cat.

Aino the rag-cat

This is Aino.
She likes to ride her bike and to play house. She's also really good at baking, even if she does like to eat the cookie dough more than actually make anything.

Aino is made from linen and she's filled with rags and organic cotton batting -her tail is stuffed with just the cotton batting. She has tiny little button eyes and a very old plastic button for a belly button. Her nose is embroidered and she has healthy blushy cheeks.
Aino is wearing a chocolate brown linen pinny, a brightly patterned green dress made from an old cotton pillowcase with a white cotton Peter Pan collar and pretty brown felt mary-jane shoes with little decorative buttons on them. The pinny and dress both fasten with a snap on the back.

Robots, kitties, and cupcakes from Cutesy but not Cutesy!

Hello Needle! This may or may not be my first post to the Needle...I have been a member for a while but have never seemed to have the time to make a decent post!

Here is my newest creation for a returning customer of mine. He asked me to create something that included robots, kitties, and cupcakes...how ever I wanted to handle those three things was up to me! I believe his intention is to eventually launch a website robotkittycupcake that is completely focused on his favorite artist's creations involving robots...kitties...and cupcakes...you got it! It's one of my favorites, I almost don't want to give him up! After all, what's better than a fella who carries around his stuffed kitty and has a cupcake heart???
