antler boy & toothy bears

Hi there! Oh I'm very excited to part of this fab group. It's just ace, isn't it? I thought you might like my antler boy, he's small and furry and my first go at antlers, with an obligatory scarf (I like to wrap all small creatures in scarves. They're cute and keep you warm).



Also some toothy bears I made from the same basic pattern as antler boy there. I do love embroidered faces, they turn out in unexpected ways (and see, there's another scarf).

These guys are now in my shop. I've just started some more creatures from wooly soft blankets and they're turning out swell, well I think so. I will show you soon! If you like, come and see my blog at Pepper Stitches. It sure would like to see you. It told me so.

This is my new experiment. I got a home screen printing kit a while ago and I've finally started using it.

For its first outing I designed a business bunny and bear. Each one is different and there is only 4 made of each character.

I was happy with the outcome and I've made up some new designs for more.

Odd Dotty

I have something to share! I make teddy bears, it's a very peaceful occupation. One that keeps me slightly sane.
A little about me and my therapy... er... ahem I mean one of my teddy bears.

His name is Ol' Plain and Brownish, because he is.

But don't let the fur fool you, this little guy is deep and thoughtful. Plain and Brownish he may be... but inside beats a poet heart. He feels deeply and applies his beautiful spirit to the wounds of the sad world, he is after all a teddy bear. It is his calling. He is about 8 inches tall, (half of this is his Ol' head!) I hand dyed the mohair, and the soft cashmere wool I used on his arms and legs.

I love creating teddy bears.

Bears in Boots from the new Whimsimals Line

Meet Pansy Bear in Boots and Bobby Bear in Boots, both little darlings from my new Whimsimals line of plush that is making its way here from the Whimsy Patch. (In the future you can expect to see Mod Mice, Bunnies in Golashes, among others!)

The Whimsimals come to us from Whimsing Hill. Until now, I was not aware that the Whimsy Patch boasted of such a region, a land filled with chubby little animals who dress like, behave like, and live like Whimsy Chaps and Whimsy Dollies but are actually neither. The Bears in Boots are the first species I happened upon and they are a lively bunch. They kind of remind me of hobbits with all their love for dancing, eating and drinking, with their little homes built into the Whimsing Hillside, and their love for great craftmanship. You cannot find homes in the Whimsy Patch that can even compare when it comes to the woodwork and detail involved in making their homes. Just remember to duck your head upon entry or you might just wind up with a bumpknot! Oh, and don't forget to try their ice cold Whimsy apple cider. So refreshing!

Pansy would like for you to know that aside from dancing, eating and drinking she absolutely loves to write poetry and illustrate Whimsy books.

Bobby says if you come to visit he would love to perform some magic tricks for you. He is a wonderful magician! On his not-in-the-mood-for-magic-tricks-days, he's a bit of a homebody and he likes to snuggle up with a good book and a cup of tea.

Hold Me Bear

finished another "hold me" bear. Made out of yarn I unraveled from an old sweater, washed, and then crocheted. The red yarn from the sweater was made up of all different threads, one being a sparkly silver.
