Favorite books characters always can inspire us. Recently I was trying to tell my daughter story about little girl in red ring hood and she was quite frightened and this inspired me to make something funny to chear up anybody frightened. I've made a plushie who loves to dress as a Red Riding Hood. It's a hare - in lack of better name called bunny - in Red Riding Hood outfit. Outfit was knitted. In her basket she has some goodies for her grandmother (carrots and wine), book to read oma some stories, and a wolf handpuppet (OK, for humans it would be fingerpuppet) to scare away any wolf.
And she goes to Blanka Helga - very tallented graphics artist who made really beautiful Red Riding Hood graphics.

plushie cosplayer
doll and Zuleikha
I've made a doll recently. Not for the first time, but for the first time of jersey. And for the very first time - she's nameless - it never happened before that doll didn't bring her name with her. I feel very strange with it. But she seems to be fine with it and looks very optimistic - look at her laughing features.
I'm planning (I can't help it's still only a project) to make a serie of such simple dolls. On this photo she's accompanied by Zuleikha bunny - another production of mine. For next month propably I won't be making softies (sigh) - I have another plans
But - anybody - have any suggestion what's the name of this young doll?

Back in game

And here he is - grey puppy made of polar fleece.

Henio loves to play and you can see him ready to aport any toy, or a branch, or maybe a little ball.

His pink tongue is made of wool felt, as are his features. Safety eyes. I'm also proud of his claws - made of wool felt, so rather harmless.

I shouldn't say it about my own production, but I find Henio cute :) But maybe next time, I'll make my pattern for a doggie larger. Observing my daughter, I've noticed that toddlers love to have huge toys.

polar bears
Last year it was Knut - the most famous polar bear in the western world. This year another Berlin zoo cub has a chance to become an icon of environmental foundations and organizations. I wonder what the name it will have. This polar bear of mine was made in April 2007, and his name was Tony. I'm planning to make some more of them soon.
But what I'm interested the most righ now are: how long will it take me to have another camera to pop my NEWEST toys? Is it better to remain OOAK toy maker or make a mass production? Propably all of us have similiar problems to consider.
Have a nice day!

It's great to be a part of the club
Hi, I'm Aloutka, vel lalootka .
I love black and white - in clothing, in interior design, and in making plushies I prefer to use these colours too. Then magpie is the perfect animal for me, as you can see. Of course, I use other colours, fabrics new and pre-loved, handsewing them with joy and love in cuddly and soft pals. My favourite pets among softies are sheep, cats and hares (although I call them bunnies, I remember the difference between a hare and a rabbit).
Thank you, Claire, for inviting me here!
Happy New Year everyone
