little fabien handmade dolls: cute ever after!

When Tugce was 5, her mother gifted a kitten to her. Tugce named the cat ''Yosi'' because of it's eyes were moss-like. They were having great time together playing games all the time. Even one day Tugce took Yosi to her kindergarten, but you know what, Yosi the ''curious'' just disappeared when it tours around. Tugce felt so sad and started to crying, what a cry! She cried her eyes out. Noboady managed to cease her tears. And then the day become evening. Tugce took the road to her school bus while she was holding a handkerchief with one hand because of she has snuffles and the other hand full with the pages of the coloring book has given as a homework. At that very moment ''the boy playing in sandpit'' showed up and said:

New Book from the Plush Team

This just in: a wonderful, stupendous, chock-full-of-awesome book about the greatness of plush. It's published by the beloved Plush Team, and a must read for any fan of plush art.
But instead of me gushing on and on about it, here's some actual information about the book:

"The Plush Team is ecstatic to present to you our first ever Team Annual, containing 120 pages of plushy goodness!
What is in store for you upon opening this marvelous book:

* An opening by our team founder, Megan Green, describing how our team came to be.
* An insightful, informative, and all-around fascinating account of the history of plush craft by our team co-founder Christina Ward.
* 42 two-page, full color features of our Plush Team members. Each includes photos of the artist's work, and text written by the artist explaining motivation, process, and inspiration.
* A time line of Plush Team activities through over the years.Profile pages providing a comprehensive list of Plush Team artists, including artist head shots and Etsy shop addresses.
* Photos of PT Stitchy, the team mascot, scattered throughout the book in his various incarnations as interpreted by our team members.

The book is full color, professionally printed, and soft cover. It measures 6.75"x6.75" (or 17 centimeters square). This is volume 1 of our Team Annual, featuring the artists from 2009. Our intent is to make this a yearly publication, updating it each year with our newest members and their incredible work."

If you want your very own copy (and why wouldn't you?), hop on over to the team's Etsy shop before they sell out!

Iron Plush Challenge!

My secret ingredient was velcro...something I've never really worked with.

I came up with a cake that features velcro very heavily as both a decoration and a useful part. The white strips are velcro, as are the white polka dots.

Velcro is attached to the back of each faux flower. The flowers can then be moved around willy nilly, or removed completely for a different look.

This cake is kind of big. It measures 8" tall (10" to the top of the flowers) and the bottom layer is 9" diameter.
The cake itself is made from fleece, stuffed with polyfill.

Hamilton Chickenpants is in the shop and ready to move and shake his way into your life.

Here's his bio:
Hamilton Chickenpants is one of Chickenton's leading movers and shakers. He's always thinking up the next big deal. He's quite a shaker on the dance floor, too.
He is number 118 in the grand scheme of Chickenpants. (Meaning he was the 118th one made)
And you can only find him in the Plush Team's Etsy shop.

Sweet Pea

Meet Sweet Pea. She may look vicious but as long as she has some munchies nearby she's perfectly harmless and loves to cuddle.

My studio is starting to look more like a plushie zoo these days as the monsters gather together and prepare to head to Renegade in Chicago.

New Plush Team Series

As I am watching my little plush business grow I have seen a change in my home. Little plush friends shining cute happiness, beautiful colored threads and fabrics, piles and piles of remnants, fluff bags, ribbon, paper, pins, scissors, half finished projects, packaging tape, string and the list goes on and on. It can get very overwhelming and I find that my creation is actually a big crazy mess of supplies and not a lovely plush creation. So I decided to go to my fabulous Plush
Team
for tips on how to get my mess organized. Which has led to the newest Plush Team series... Creative Ideas for Creating a Creative Workspace.
First up is... Squirrel Momma

She stores her felt in a large expandable file folder that she got at Staples (it's red and pink and cool!). She likes it because she can see all the colors (which helps her little squirrel brain think), but she can still close it up and carry it around. She has nearly outgrown this, though, so she is probably going to add a second one.

Another thing Squirrel Momma has is one of those storage units they make for nuts and bolts. Hers has about 25 drawers of various sizes and she uses it for pinbacks, tags, sequins, etc.--stuff she needs, but not every day.

AND she has about 4 gazillion Plano cases that she uses for things like embroidery floss and little body parts. Also nice because she can carry them around in her WIP bag.

My favorite creative tip that Squirrel Momma has for us is that she clamps her folded cotton fabric pieces together with black metal binder clips. Then she can root through it and it doesn't all come unfolded. Such a great idea!

She says she might be a little OCD with the containers. But I say she is very creatively organized!

Braveheart monkey is the latest in my series of 'Superstar' Sock Monkeys based on characters from TV and film.
